Take the Reins: Performance Training Series, is a unique and powerful experiential seminar that incorporates horses in the instructional process. By observing, leading, and working with the horses through challenging activities and exercises your team will discover first hand your strengths and weaknesses when it comes to cultivating success in such areas as communication, confidence, trust, role interaction and objective execution.

These activities, coupled with instructional lessons and discussion, takes your group beyond most team building practices. Designed to challenge, inspire and move your team beyond status quo, this program focuses on building mindsets for optimal performance.

If you are looking for a new and effective way to get the most out of your team and are searching to find a different approach, then this training seminar is for you.
Whether Corporate, Business, Athletic or Administrative, this training series provides a unique opportunity to take your team to the next level.

Some of the most common challenges facing teams today, whether corporate, business, athletic or administrative include:
- Unhealthy Team Dynamics
- Low Engagement & Lack of Motivation
- Lack of Communication & Direction
- Lack of Trust
- Ineffective Leadership

Successful performance development today is about creating a cultural shift in how your team members think and function. A productive team doesn’t happen by chance. It requires intentionality that establishes and equips team members with the tools necessary to cultivate a culture of excellence.

NOTE: All equine work is done on the ground, not horseback. No prior knowledge of horses is needed.

Take the Reins Training Testimonials

Darren’s messages are clear, practical, and relatable, making a lasting impact on our team. He has been a true difference-maker for our program. We have also worked with him individually with athletes who were struggling with the mental side of competition, and the growth we have seen in both their performance and personal development has been exceptional. His ability to build confidence, resilience, and a winning mindset is unmatched.

For the past two years, we have had Coach Harsin work with our girls’ basketball team, and the impact he has had is immeasurable. He has covered a variety of topics that have truly benefited our team and contributed to our success both on and off the court. There have been numerous times over the past two seasons when something Coach Harsin discussed was brought up again during practice or even in the middle of a game.

What we experienced was far more than a morning together - it was a powerful reminder of who we are, why we serve, and how we are called to lead. Sue and Darren have embraced a remarkable new vision through Take the Reins: helping organizations, leaders, companies, and teams discover their strengths, navigate challenges, and move forward with greater clarity, purpose, and unity. Their passion for investing in people was evident in every conversation, exercise, and moment of reflection throughout the day. Our time with them could not have been any better and the activities were unlike anything we have ever experienced.
